This post is all about bullet journal supplies you need that you will actually use!
Bullet journal supplies, we all love them and we all love to hoard them. But what do people actually use? What should you avoid spending your hard earned money on? This guide is letting you in on the 6 BEST must have bullet journal supplies you will actually use whenever you journal.

Bullet Journal Supplies
Now I have already written a post on ‘Must Have Bullet Journal Supplies’ where I list absolute favourites from the bullet journal community. If you want to check that out, click here.
As said before this post is for supplies you will use mostly every single time you make a bullet journal spread.
So, without further ado, let’s jump right in.
Staedtler Triplus Fineliners
These bad boys have been a staple in the bullet journal community since I started journalling back in 2016! I bought my first pack in late 2016 and they JUST started running out on me.
They’re mostly used for drawing, lettering and outlining. Mostly every single one of my spreads contains a triplus fineliner. However, these are not good for colouring in so I wouldn’t attempt it.
Zebra Mildliners
Zebra Mildliners are highlighter gold. Wanna know why? They’re not actually highlighters, they have mid brightness so they’re actually quite mild. The mildliners come in around 20+ colours, each unique and sought after.
They are dual tip, with one end being a highlighter nib and the other a marker nib. I personally aboslutely love these pens and I use them everyday whether or not I am journalling.
If you are to purchase any highlighters, mildliners should be it!
A Black Tombow Dual Brush Pen
If you do not have the hundreds of whatever your currency is to spend on Tombows, like me, I recommend just purchasing the black one. Why? It is the best dual brush pen. The marker nib is thick enough to title with and thin enough to make a border. The brush tip is also such high quality.
I use my tombow for headings and words I know I can calligraphy.

Hethrone Dual Brush Pens
Everyone who knows me knows how much I love these dual brush pens. Compared to Tombows they are super super cheap, around 20-30 bucks for a pack of 72!
The brush nib does frey after long periods of use but I find they are still usable.
I use these in mostly every single spread and I highly recommend them.
A Ruler
I don’t know why but this simple little tool is always overlooked. Granted sometimes I love to go freehand with my borders but in some spreads a ruler is a must. Save yourself from frantically trying to find something small and thin enough to use a ruler and just buy one!
Honorable Mention: These Productivity Stencils
I actually don’t have these stencils but I’ve seen them floating around and my gosh, they look amazing! You can save so much time and effort with these productivity stencils and quickly draw habit trackers, hexagons and more. They would definitely be a bullet journal supply that you use frequently!
There we have it! That was the 6 best must have bullet journal supplies that you will actually use!
