This FREE Ultimate 70+ Item University Packing List Will Make Packing SO MUCH Easier!

If you are packing for university and do not know what to take to university, this post is telling you a free university packing list that will save you so much time and stress!

    university packing list printable

Having packed for university three times in my life, I think it is safe to say I know how stressful it can be, especially for first year university students. What do you pack? What don’t you pack? Don’t worry about any of that as this university packing list pdf is going to take the stress out of stressful.

What To Take To University (and HOW)

Using our free university packing checklist below, you can print it out and manually check off the items as and when you get them. However, one of the big problems I had at university was, where do I get these items from and how am I going to pack it all?

Amazon truly came to the rescue. In fact I have a whole 60+ linked item list of first year university essentials that I 1000% recommend you take a look at, as this uni packing list pdf is based on that post.

When it comes to packing and storing these items, I do NOT recommend card boxes as they take up so much room and deteriorate over time. These plastic storage boxes and clothes bags below are perfect for transportation and you can also use them as under bed storage whilst things are unpacked.

5 Under Bed Plastic Storage Boxes
    • 32 L capacity each
    • 5 boxes
    • Fit under the bed/ on top of the wardrobe

What To Bring To University Essentials

    university packing list uk

A lot of the things on this list are essential items you need at university to get by day to day. However you may already have a lot of these things, so below I am listing just a few VITAL essentials on this list you need to purchase before moving out, that you most likely do not already own.

For a full linked list, click here for ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING you need to bring to university with you- from bathroom to kitchen, to bedroom, to bits you DO NOT want to forget!

I’ve also made a separate blog post on 22 things you did not know you absolutely need for University that will make your life easier (but do not necessarily 100% need).

    1. A Small Suitcase

    Carry on Suitcase
    • Airline approved- use it for holidays too!
    • Cabin sized so can fit easily in a wardrobe/ under the bed
    • Multiple colour options
    Amazon

I went my whole first year without a suitcase and it was a PAIN. Honestly, do yourself a favour from the get go and get yourself a hard shell suitcase. They can be quite expensive but you will have it for years and years so it’s a great investment that will both save your back and make your life so much easier. For weekends at home or going home for a week your backpack is not going to be enough and carrying it all in bags is just difficult and a huge faff. Grab yourself a suitcase to make travelling to and from university easy!

    2. A Mattress Topper

Silentnight Deep Sleep Single Mattress Topper
    • single and double options
    • super cosy
    • more hygienic than sleeping on university beds
    Amazon

I was so lucky that my landlords bought new mattresses for us in both of my uni houses. However this is a rarity and you’ll probably be sleeping on a mattress thats years old and has seen a lot of bodies (it had to be said lol.) For comfort, sanity, and hygiene, grab yourself a mattress topper to ensure you have a lovely nights sleep!

    3. Extension Cord

    Extension Lead with USB Slots
    • 4 sockets
    • 4 USB Ports
    • Can take on holiday with you
    • Very long 1.8m cord
    Amazon

I say this because everyone always forgets an extension lead! I remember my first university room had 2 plugs and I showed up with around 15 electronics 😂. These tower extensions are great because you can plug in both plugs and USB cords.

    4. A Shower Caddy

    mDesign Bathroom Caddy
    • 2 colour options
    • so cute
    • durable
    Amazon

This is a game changer for those sharing bathrooms. If you do not want people using your things, or just want to keep your things all in one place, grab yourself one of these bad boys. I love mine so much I still use it now that I am at home. Put all of your bathroom bits into this caddy and transport it to and from the bathroom with ease. This is a must for your university packing list!

    5. Laundry Separator Basket

Large Collapsible Washing Laundry Basket Bag
    • Multiple colour and compartment options
    • 3 separate compartments
    • Collapsible – easily transported
    Amazon

I’ve showed this to all of my friends and we WISH we knew this existed in our university days as it would have made our lives 100x easier. In fact, I am debating getting one for my family home because it looks that good!

It’ll save you time separating out your lights from darks, and will save a black or red sock sneaking in and dying your whites.

This also comes in a three compartment basket for colours, darks, and lights here.

Free Meal Planner Printable That Will Make You Super Organized + How To Meal Plan!

If you are looking to get super organised with your food, this post is giving you a meal planner printable free, that will help you do just that!

    meal planner printable free

Whether you are looking to save some money by only buying food you actually need, or looking to regulate your eating, a weekly meal planner printable can be your answer to all of these problems.

I have been using this meal planner printable pdf for MONTHS now and I can proudly say, this has helped me save money, keep on top of my food goals, and get me closer to my weight goal!

This free meal planner will be an absolute asset to your daily life, planning and organization routine.

Why Meal Plan with a Meal Planner Printable?

Meal planning is a life changing tool that you need to implement if you want to be organised, productive, and also eat smart through out the week.

A few hours of food prep a week will save you time, effort, and brain power throughout the week.

We have all been in those situations when you come home from work super hungry but there is nothing to eat. What do you end up doing? Your order takeout or you cook super unhealthy food.

However with meal planning, the most you have to do is check your meal planner printable, take your tupperware out of the fridge and put it in the microwave. 5 minutes later you have yourself a nice, warm, home cooked meal for you to enjoy.

This is all done through meal planning!

If you love this printable, I have a bunch more on this blog: click to view all of my freebie printable posts here. Alternatively, you can check out some absolute favourites that you guys love:

    Meal Planning Essentials

Before we get into how to use this weekly meal planner, I thought I would share with you some of my meal planning essentials that I use on a weekly basis, in case you’re not too sure about what you will need.

I have been using these for months! They are quite flimsy but don’t let that put you off; they are air tight, freeze well, dishwasher safe, and microwaveable. The best thing is that they do not discolour. Sometimes, with oily/ tomato based foods you will get that orange tinge to the plastic- these do not do that!

These freezer labels will change the game! You write the contents, and the date you freeze/ should eat by and your good to go! These make it so easy when looking in your fridge/ freezer for things to eat. These are a recent purchase of mine but I have heard that when these labels go into the dishwasher, the writing washes off so you can re-use it! Amazing, right?

How to Use A Weekly Meal Planner

    meal planner printable free

It really is as easy as it says on the tin; you plan your meals you will be having for the week. For ease (and to save you from seeing my awful photography skills) I have used Goodnotes to show you how I use this meal planner printable template to plan my foods out for the week.

I basically go through the fridge on a Sunday and see what I have and what I am craving and just make meals out of it all. Now I don’t sit there and cook all of my meals at once (only the big long meals like a lasagne etc)- I just write them down so when it comes to it I know exactly what I am cooking.

Planning before the beginning of the week allows me to know what I need to freeze, what I need to buy etc.

My meal planner template genuinely helps me loose weight and stay on top of my snacking and healthy eating, as I have food right there either prepared or ready to be cooked.

3 Amazing Free Savings Tracker Printables + Super Effective Savings Trackers Pack

If you are looking to save some money and need some help to do so, these savings tracker printables will help you reach your goal!

    savings tracker

Saving money can be super hard and restrict you from doing so many things. What if I tell you, it doesn’t have to be that way? Tracking your savings and keeping tabs on where your money is going is the KEY to save some extra cash.

Now, we have already gone over 8 Easy Ways to Save Money, and Sinking Funds 101: How to Use Them (with a free printable). Now it is time to track our savings goals using a free savings tracker.

    What is a Savings Tracker

A savings tracker is a visual representation of your savings. You can be saving for literally anything: a new car, a holiday, a new pair of boots… whatever you would like.

Savings trackers are amazing tools that will help you reach your savings goals because each time you save up to the new milestone, you get to tick it off/ colour it in.

    Savings Tracker PDF download

Here you can sign up to receive a free pack of savings tracker for you to use! Not only do I use these savings tracker in my budget planner, I also use a bunch of these savings tracker for bullet journal, as you’ll see after you download them below.

    How to use Savings Trackers:

As said above, savings tracker are amazing tools to reach your money goals. Within this pack, I am going to show you what I use each free savings tracker for.

For ease of presentation and privacy, I have used my GoodNotes app to fill out my free savings tracker templates.

That is another great thing about these savings trackers, you don’t have to print them out and use them in your journal, you can keep them on your tablet and use them digitally, too.

    savings tracker pdf

These first two trackers are super cool and simple for tracking savings. I used the thermometer as how a thermometer is usually used and coloured in the line whenever I got to the milestone.

With the jar, I could have gone a few ways, one being similar to the thermometer and the other doing what I have done here. I decided to draw coins within the jar, just to make this savings tracker a but more fun. Of course you do not have to use coins, you can go ahead and draw whatever you would like. For example, if you are saving for a new car, you can draw wheels, or steering wheels.

    savings tracker printable free

For the final tracker in the free savings tracker printable pack, I have used the cloud savings tracker not a savings tracker, but a weight-loss tracker (see how versatile these trackers can be?) This tracker is absolutely perfect because there’s so many clouds that you can put a lot of milestones in place and overall just looks a but more fun. I suggest using the biggest cloud at the top as the pinnacle of your goal.

    Wait.. there’s more savings trackers?

If you love these savings trackers, there is a whole pack, with 4 more trackers, available on my Etsy! Here are some of them below:

    savings tracker printable

They come in both: A4 and A5 size (so that’s Letter and ‘Half Letter’ size!) I am obsessed with the graph tracker and the 10k tracker!

Also on Etsy: 52 Weeks Savings Challenge, Home Savings Tracker

There we have it, three awesome free savings tracker printables for you to use and reach all of your savings goals! Let me know if you give this a download and use them, as they are perfect for your journal. If you download our pack on Etsy, let me know, too 🙂

  • Sinking Funds 101 + Best Free Sinking Funds Tracker Printable

Sinking Funds 101 + Best Free Sinking Funds Tracker Printable

Looking to save some money? This post is showing you exactly how using our sinking funds tracker will help you achieve your money goals!

    sinking funds tracker

If saving money has always been quite difficult for you, or you are looking to save towards a particular goal, sinking funds are your solution. Trust me on this, sinking funds have been proven to save me 1,000s in the past year. Using this free sinking funds tracker PDF can help you save 100s, too.

Before we get into how great our sinking funds tracker template is, let’s get into what sinking funds really are.

    What are Sinking Funds?

Sinking funds are great money saving trackers that essentially help you save money towards a particular goal. Think of each fund as an individual piggy bank that you put money towards as often as you like.

For example, for my sinking funds I put money in every single month as I get paid. However, a lot of American people, will put money in twice a month (as they get paid twice a month.)

Sinking fund trackers are used to keep track of your sinking funds and keep you motivated and know exactly where all of your money is going. Scroll down to download your individual sinking funds tracker free pdf!

Now, for sinking funds a tracker is a key but you also need to think… where am i going to keep all of my money? I have you covered here, too.

    Sinking Funds Equipment

In addition to your sinking funds tracker, here are two items I highly recommend using to help keep track of each of your funds separately and physically.

DYMO Label Maker with 3 Bonus Labeling Tapes

This is to create labels for all of your folders and other organisational tools!

    Amazon US Amazon UK

I LOVE these items and use these exact ones to separate and contain all of my funds. I have my ziplock folders within my binder, with each folder labelled to the corresponding fund.

So the folder is a great place to store each individual fund– I went for an A5 folder, along with A5 ziplock style inserts. You can definitely go for an A6 size if you don’t mind you money being slightly squished.

For the labels I went in with my Dymo label printer to print and stick on each fund label. I toyed with the idea of just having sticky labels I could write on but this label printer won as it has a much cleaner look and I can use it for so may more things!

So where does the sinking funds tracker come into this?

    • Sinking Funds Tracker
    • Monthly Sinking Fund Tracker

If you are looking for a more yearly structured and detailed sinking funds planner, check out my digital sinking funds planner posts, that you can also print out!

I print out my sinking funds tracker sheet and slot it into the front of my ring binder so I can keep track of the balance! As each sheet has 4 funds on it, it saves so much space and is more economical. Each fund comes with 12 rows within the ‘date’ column, one for each month of the year!

I have used GoodNotes on my iPad to give you a demonstration of how I use the free sinking funds tracker below.

    free sinking funds tracker

We’ve already spoken about the separate funds tracker, so let’s talk about the monthly sinking funds tracker. This tracker is SO GOOD. You essentially list all of your funds for a particular month/ date and state how much you have added and or spent from that sinking fund.

There’s also a spent/ added section where you can state the respective amounts. If you budget monthly, this pack is great, especially if you dip into your sinking funds during those months. Below I have put in a brief example of how I use this sinking fund tracker.

When these two trackers are used in conjunction together, it really gives you a much more effective grip on your finances and you can effectively see how much money you have in your whole funds per month!

For example, I have started the month off in May with £220 in my gifts budget, however during that month I bought a pair of jeans for my sisters birthday for £60, therefore I place -60 into the +/- column and then at the end of the month, I put £160 in the end column!

When I say this pack has SAVED my finances and helped me save 1000s for a holiday and car, I mean it!

FREE 6 Page Christmas Planner Printable

Yep, you’ve read the title correctly, this post is giving you a FREE 6 page Christmas Planner Printable, that will be your ultimate organisation companion for this holiday season, and many seasons to come!

    christmas planner printable

Christmas can be so so stressful. What do you buy everyone? What are you cooking? What is the budget? So many questions that do not add to the holly-jolly of the season at all. To make the season less stressful (as we know it is stressful enough) we made an amazing Christmas planner printable for you to print out and use!

This post is giving you two Christmas Planner Printable

    Christmas Planner Printable

It’s time to say ‘goodbye’ to the mad festive dash that we dread every single year, due to us leaving things to the last minute. We are going to become organised Kings and Queens this year and get everything DONE on time. This Christmas planner printable will help you do exactly that.

The great thing about this FREE printable? You can use this for this year and re-use it for next year, too! Also, if you do not have a printer this PDF is compatible with all note-taking apps (I use mine on Goodnotes) and works exactly the same.

Right, so what’s actually in this Christmas Planner Printable pack?

    1. Overall To-Do and Card Tracker

This first half of this page is essentially an overall to-do brain dump where you can have an overview of everything you need to do! If you find you have more to do’s than the space provided its so simple to print out/ duplicate another sheet.

The second half is a Christmas card tracker, which is great for you to put who you’re giving cards to and track whether you have sent them or not.

PS: look how gorgeous these cards are!

    2. Budget

Up next we have the Christmas Budget Printable. As it shows on the sheet you put the category, the amount you are budgeting for it, the actual amount you spent and whether you are over or under budget.

This sheet is AMAZING. You can keep track of every single penny and know if one category needs less money/ more money to spend on it.

Enjoying this Christmas post? Here’s more to check out:

    3-4. Gift Tracker

    christmas planner printable 2021

Probably one of the best trackers in this Christmas printable planner. Why? You need to use this tracker to get how amazing it is. I have dedicated two pages in this planner for a gift tracker so you can keep track of every single present you are giving out.

Using the present budget you assigned to presents in the budget tracker on page two, you can assign each person a budget and write down all of the presents you have gotten them and then the actual price.

This is a great way to keep track of the presents you have bought and who for!

    5. On The Menu

If you are hosting Christmas dinner this year, this is the perfect page to put your menu on! This is a great page to use as it will keep you from over/ under cooking. For example, I know during my family Christmas dinners, we ALWAYS seem to undercook the amount of roast potatoes. This Christmas planner page will remind me to cook the right amount (which in our case is probably around 50+ potatoes 😂.)

If you are not hosting Christmas dinner this year, this page is still great for you to put some fun festive recipes you would like to cook this Holiday season, like a peppermint latte, or a gingerbread house.

    6. Shopping List

Lastly we have a general shopping list. This page is great for you to put the food and festive bits you definitely need to get this season and then tick it off when you do!

    • You are paying 9K to be there (and the rest in maintenance) so make sure you get a good education out of it.
    • Every single assignment counts towards your grade, which counts towards your degree classification and is shown on your transcript.
    • First year doesn’t count? Well it does. Your first year grade determines whether you can continue to second year and it also aids you in getting a placement.
    • It really does pay to be productive! The more productive you are towards your degree, the more likely you are to succeed and keep these habits.
    • Practicing these productivity habits will evolve into healthy life habits

HOW to Stay Productive At University

Now you know why you should be productive here’s precisely how you can be productive at university.

The first thing is not going to be a must do/ must have because everyone organises themselves in different ways. I highly recommend a bullet journal, especially if your a student as they are helpful af and these steps can be implemented in your journal!

If you do not know how to start a bullet journal click here for my super helpful guide.

1 | List EVERYTHING You Need To Do, When You Get It

Keep a running checklist of every piece of work, powerpoint, questions etc, you have been looking at in lectures and have been set. This way you know exactly what you have done and can check it off when its completed.

2 | Make an ‘Assignment Due’ Timeline

Put this somewhere where you can ALWAYS see it. You wake up, you see it, you go to bed, you see it. Make a copy and put it into your binder, therefore you are constantly reminded of your assignments and will actively complete them.

I suggest a wall/ desk calendar type thing where you can put your social engagements on there aswell to double make sure everything is done and dusted.

3 | Make a ‘To Do’ Sheet for Each Exam/ Assignment Due as You Get Them and Put Time Stamps on Each Task

Just been set your assignment on Mass Spectrometry? Well spend about an hour after your lecture going through the specification and detail what needs to be done in a big to-do list in your organiser. Our master to-do list is great for that!

Having this to do list will allow you to plan your time accordingly. For example, if you only have two hours to spare after lectures before dinner with the girls, you can start on the section that will take roughly two hours. Therefore you can still go to dinner but also be on top of your assignments.

4 | Spend Your In-between Lecture Time In The Library Catching Up On Notes

I’m gonna let you in on a little secret, the hardest thing to keep up with at university is not the assignments but the notes.

Take every single spare moment in between, before and after lectures, that you have free, to catch up on all of your notes. This will save you a lot of time before the big exam rush trying to catch up with your notes. Therefore giving your ample revision time.

    5 | TIME BLOCK

Treat university like a full time job. From 9-5 you have lectures (meetings) and personal work times. I recommend separating the blocks into different modules. Here’s an example of time blocking:

It is crucial that you stick to your time block to save yourself from over-running and burning out. Time blocking will also set your brain into a rhythm where you are working from 9-5 effectively and give yourself something to look forward to afterwards.

6 | Plan Your Day The Night Before

In relation to time blocking, make sure you plan the night before. I know things can rock up spontaneously on the day but the beauty of planning and having everything done for that day, by a certain time, will mean you can meet your social engagements.

7 | Do Not Freak Out!

If you don’t complete your to-do list, don’t fret; I rarely completed mine. It’s all about being realistic and knowing what you can/ cannot do in a day.

For example, my to-do lists used to look like this:

    • Lecture 9-10
    • Lecture 11-1
    • Lecture 1-2
    • Start Assignment on Polymers – Introduction
    • Notes on lecture 6
    • notes on lecture 7
    • Complete exam questions for module ch326
    • Go to labs and set up reflux (30min- 1 hour)
    • Dinner at 8

Now that is way too much to do in one day; I don’t think anyone could do that. I used to be really disappointed when I only checked off about half of the things on my list until I really started paying attention to the time it took to complete my tasks. Therefore, I was able to adapt my to-do lists.

Now, my to-do list looks like:

    • Lecture (9-10)
    • Start Assignment on Polymers – Introduction (10-11)
    • Lecture (11-1)
    • Lecture (1-2)
    • Lunch (2-3)
    • Complete exam questions for module ch326 (3-4)
    • Notes on lecture 6 (4-5.30)
    • Set Up Reflux (5.30-6.30)
    • Dinner at 8
