In the stressful period of exams, deadlines, tax returns or even prepping for a work presentation we all need to be that tad bit more productive don’t we? I am going to be sharing with you the best free apps that will increase your productivity (for both IOS and Andriod!) I’m a big advocate of sometimes doing nothing but when it started to be a regular (hourly) occurrence of reaching for my phone to browse instagram for the 40th time in twenty minutes, i realized I needed to stop… after all, your essay on a completely irrelevant topic subject is not going to write itself. With a little research and trial and error, I have discovered some of the best free apps that increase productivity, that I would love to share with you all!
As I have started to build up my blog again I’ve been dedicating more time to it and having both exams and a job at the same time, I cannot afford to waste minutes during the day. I depend on these apps all day, everyday as they really do help me be more productive.
First and foremost however, you are going to need a device where you can download these apps on. I personally use my phone (Huawei Mate 20 pro) and my tablet (Huawei Media Pad.)
FOREST- maybe the best productivity app!
Forest is a beautifully free (if you are on Android- £1.99 on App Store)app. The overall premise of this app is that you plant trees everyday and by the end of the day you should have a Forest. However, the tree will die if you click off of the app. You can pick your tree and the time you want off of your phone and start the growth. When the growth is finished you get coins which you can buy a variety of trees with. You can also add your friends on the app and have a group concentrating sesh.
Overall this app is amazing for productivity as i absolutely hate killing my trees so it keeps me off of my phone as it will for you, too!
WANDERLIST – perfect for productivity and organisation
If you are not a bullet journaler like me, I would definitely recommend this app! Wanderlist is what it says, a list app. The good thing about this app is that you can share your to-do lists with other people so if you are doing a group project/ co-authoring a story or collaborating on a blogpost you know what everyone has done and not done. I use it on the go, when I dont have my bullet journal with me. You can access the lists everywhere, where that be from your phone, your Mac, Android etc.
You can also customise your lists with fun backgrounds!
HOLD – keeps your phone down and productivity up
A free app, unfortunately only for student’s I believe. Hold gives you 10 points for every twenty minutes you are on the app and not on your phone. With these points you can purchase Amazon Scratchcards, Newlook vouchers, Vue cinema tickets and loads more! The good thing about this app is that you compete with your friends and people from your college/ university and if you click off the app at 49 minutes you still have the points for 40 minutes.
Those are my top three apps for productivity! I totally love and use these all the time and they truly help me save a bunch of time and make me much more productive. I would love to know if you have any other apps for productivity that you recommend 🙂
I’ve never heard of hold before, but I’m definitely going to look into it. When I was in college, I used Forest quite a bit. It did exactly what you said it did. I didn’t use my phone much, and got most of my work done. Great recommendations! xxx
